Privacy Policy

Empire Grove LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), operating as Empire Grove Labs, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Orion Fitness app and our website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the app, and data from connected services you authorize.

• Account information: Name and email address when you create an account.
• Workout data: Exercises, sets, reps, weights, rest periods, and session notes you log in the app.
• Health & fitness data: With your permission, Orion Fitness reads heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, and resting heart rate from Apple HealthKit. We do not write data to HealthKit.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
• Payment information: Subscription status and transaction identifiers processed through Apple's in-app purchase system or Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
• Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how features are used, to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide real-time AI coaching recommendations during and after workouts.
• To generate and adapt structured training programs to your progress.
• To factor recovery signals (HRV, sleep) into daily training recommendations when HealthKit access is granted.
• To process and manage your subscription.
• To respond to support requests and communications.
• To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

3. AI Coaching and Data Processing

Orion Fitness uses Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, PBC, to generate coaching recommendations. Relevant workout context (exercise, sets, reps, weight, and HealthKit metrics) is sent to Anthropic's API to produce responses. Anthropic's data usage is governed by their privacy policy. We do not send your name or email address to the AI model.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party services to operate Orion Fitness:

• Anthropic — AI model API for coaching recommendations.
• Supabase — Secure database and authentication infrastructure.
• Stripe — Payment processing for web subscriptions.
• Apple — In-app purchases, HealthKit data access, and App Store distribution.
• Railway — Cloud hosting and server infrastructure.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We share data only:

• With the third-party service providers listed above, as necessary to operate the app.
• If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Empire Grove LLC or our users.

6. Apple HealthKit

Information gathered from Apple HealthKit is used solely to provide and improve health and fitness features within Orion Fitness. We will not use HealthKit data for advertising, market research, or any purpose unrelated to fitness coaching. We will not share HealthKit data with third parties except as required to provide the app's core coaching functionality (i.e., sending relevant metrics to the AI model), and only with your explicit authorization.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and workout data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. Children's Privacy

Orion Fitness is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at info@empiregrovelabs.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top and notify users via the app if the changes are material.
